1. Cast iron rear end and transmission housing.
It doesn’t do you any good to have horsepower if you can’t transmit it to the rear wheels. Cast Iron is the best ballast, but it is expensive to produce. Only Kubota and John Deere’s more expensive models are made with cast iron, and the econo models like the L2800 or L3400 don’t have it at all.
2. Series A diesel engine.
Branson is an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) for Cummins Diesel. The engines Branson manufactures for Cummins are sold in various applications under the Cummins Label as their Industrial A Series. Every Branson tractor has an unbranded Cummins Industrial A Series, with the exception of our 65 Hp tractor which has a branded Cummins engine. Aside from the superior quality that Cummins engines are known for, as an added benefit to you, if you are outside the area of a Branson dealer, you can get your engine serviced at any Cummins Store in the USA!
3. INDEPENDENT POWER TAKE-OFF (PTO) OR LIVE PTO
All large hp farm utility tractors use Independent PTO. It is the most sought after by consumers because the Independent gives the operator much more control over the PTO function. Plus, it reduces the chances of burning out the clutch because the operator no longer has to engage the clutch to control the PTO function. Branson Tractors go one step further by allowing you to switch between Independent (no clutch required) and Live (clutch required) for those customers who want to stop the PTO with the clutch.
4. TWO SPEED PTO
Branson is one of very few manufacturers that provides a two-speed PTO as standard equipment. Because our A series engine develops its maximum torque at 1800 rpm, the two-speed PTO allows you to switch to 1000 rpm and slow the rpm to approximately 1400, operating implements more efficiently and with greater fuel efficiency. The two-speed PTO is also great for customers who use various spray rigs requiring 1000rpm.
5. FULLY SYNCRONIZED 12 SPEED TRANSMISSION AND SHUTTLE
This transmission is more expensive to produce, but has the important feature of allowing the operator to shift "on the go" without bringing the tractor to a complete stop. Not all econo tractors have synchronized transmissions as standard equipment. The end result, is a more efficient tractor operation and the opportunity take advantage of all 12 speeds!
6. DUAL HYDRAULIC PUMPS
When the loader/hydraulic run implements and the hydrostatic steering have their own pumps, the front end loader operates faster and smoother. Most importantly, it is safer for the operator as there is no loss of steering control because there is enough pressure in the hydraulic lines to run both work load and steering functions. Most econo model tractors use just one pump because it’s cheaper to produce.
7. HYDROSTATIC STEERING
While the lower price tractors from China, Japan, and India still use mechanical power steering, all big hp tractors use hydrostatic steering. This provides more control if the tire hits an obstacle, and there are no mechanical parts to wear out. Basically, you not only have superior steering control but it is cheaper to operate.
8. WET DISC BRAKES
All top-of-the-line tractors use wet disc brakes. The only models to use a dry disc or drum brakes are the econo models or models made in third world countries. While the wet disc brake is a more expensive feature, the advantages are very simple: the brakes are always in a protected environment, assuring you will always have excellent braking power upon demand. This is just another example of Branson’s dedication to quality and your safety.
9. FOUR YEAR WARRANTY
The Branson warranty covers bumper to bumper for two years or 1000 hours, and four years or 2000 hours (which ever comes first) on the engine and power train. Compare our warranty to our competitors and you’ll find that it is one of the best in the industry! Bottom line, Branson builds a quality product that they’ll stand behind for the long term.
10. FOLD DOWN ROPS
Fold-down ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) come standard, allowing you to easily go under trees or any other low structure. Most econo tractors only offer fold down rops as optional equipment at a cost of $200-$250.
11. QUICK-ATTACH LOADER & MID-MOUNT MOUNTING KIT WITH REAR AXLE BRACKETS
Our loader is a true quick-attach, requiring no tools to remove and it can be removed in less that 5 minutes! When the tractors’ side panels are removed, the mid-mount mounting frame allows you to lift up the loader and give you 100% open access to the engine compartment. Compare the competition’s supposed mid-mount and you’ll see you have to go through a front axle bracket to reach the engine. In addition, all of our loaders have steel supports that tie into the rear axle which makes the loader stronger and helps prevent what is known as “loader sway (where your bucket sways from side to side when you have a load in it. Loader sway no only stresses the joints on the arms of your loader but is very dangerous for the operator as it can roll the tractor).”
12. Lift Capacity
The lift capacity of our BL10A is 1675 lbs and the three point is 2140 lbs. The lift capacity of our BL20A is 2100 lbs and the three point is 2580 lbs. With our tractor and loaders weighing in at over 5000 lbs and the incredible lift capacity of our loader and three points, you’ll not only out perform the competition but you’ll get more work done in less time. Compare our lift capacity to the John Deere 990 and Kubota L2800, which can only lift 800 lbs on the three point and around 1000 lbs on the loader and you’ll see why Branson is the “One Ton Truck of Tractors”!
13. POWDER COATED METAL HOOD, FENDERS AND SIDE PANELS
In the past three years, a lot of our competitors have gone to plastic and/or fiberglass components (fenders, hood, side panels, etc.) to save money. The problem is that these materials often crack or are damaged by weather or accidents. Branson hasn’t cut these same corners. They build all their tractors with metal fenders, hood, side panels and components so that they’ll last. Secondly, our competitors paint their tractors instead of powder coat them. As a result, that shiny tractor you brought home won’t look like that for long. All Branson Tractors are powder coated which prevents UV damage to the paint and brings improved longevity to our paint jobs. Another nice feature is that you don’t need tools to remove any of the side panels which makes access to your engine for any kind of work much easier.
14. CENTER MOUNTED FUEL TANK
Only Branson offers under-the-platform fuel tanks on compacts. The lower tank makes it easy to fill the tank without spilling fuel on the tractor or yourself, and it puts the weight of the fuel in the center of the tractor exactly where it belongs. Our unique under-the-platform fuel tank mounting is also why we have one of the largest open platforms in the industry.
15. SINGLE LEVER QUICK-ATTACH BUCKET SYSTEM
The single lever quick-attach system is standard on all of our loaders. The competition typically offers this feature as a $325-$400 option. The single lever makes changing attachments a very easy one-man job.
16. ALUMINUM RADIATOR
To put it simply, no more worrying about corrosion destroying your radiator. This radiator is built to last.
17. LIVE POWER
Both hydraulic pumps are engine mounted, unlike some of our competition. This means you have hydraulic power at your disposal at all times.
18. RECESSED GREASE INSERTS
All Branson loaders come with recessed grease inserts to prevent breakage. They also face outward so you can easily reach them for greasing. This yet another example of a thoughtful creature comfort from the folks at Branson Tractors.
19. FRONT BUMPER GUARD
All Branson tractors come standard with a bumper guard to protect the front tractor bonnet and ultimately the engine. This is a $80-$150 option with our competitors. More standard features like this is one more reason that Branson is one of the fastest growing brands in the United States.
20. CLUTCH LOCK
Branson also offers clutch locks as standard equipment. A Clutch Lock allows you to lock out your clutch discs, which will prevent clutch sticking if the tractor is non-operational for extended periods
21. BACK UP LIGHTS
Back-up lights automatically engage when the shuttle lever is shifted into Reverse. You’ll especially appreciate this standard equipment if you’re working outside in the early morning or evening, when the lights illuminate the area behind you so you can clearly see anything that could be in the way.
22. LEVEL SIGHT GLASS
You no longer need a dipstick and rag to see if you need to add hydro fluid. Just park the tractor on level ground and take a look and the level site glass.
23. TRUE FLAT DECK
Only Branson offers a true flat deck configuration. There is nothing in the way to cause you to stumble or catch a pant leg on when dismounting the tractor. Some things can be explained but our large flat deck is one that just must be experienced to be appreciated.
24. TILT WHEEL
Branson is one of very few tractor manufacturers that include a tilt wheel as standard equipment. The tilt wheel allows customized positioning of the steering wheel for optimum comfort for those long days working on the tractor.
25. INDIVIDUAL WORK LAMP
We are one of the few companies that offer an individual work lamp. Now you can shine a light on the implement or work area for early morning or nighttime operation or conveniently light up your work area.
